ASCOT SWIM CLUB
"When your arms get tired, swim with your heart"
WELCOME TO SWIM CLUB
Ascot Swim Club, Established in 1973 Operates as an Amateur Junior Swim Club
Ascot is a club where all members are encouraged to participate at all levels and abilities. We are a club that focuses on participation, where each individual swimmer is encouraged to swim against his/her own personal best time with the opportunity to improve in a fun and supportive environment.
Club night enables the swimmers to gain a great introduction into a racing environment. It provides race practice for our junior and senior members in 25m, 50m and 100m timed events. The club also offers junior family members an opportunity to swim in a fun 12.5m event assisted by senior swimmers.
Ascot Swim Club is held every Friday night during Term 1 and Term 4 (October - March.) These meets are held in the school swimming pool, which is a heated outdoor pool. Meets start at 5.45pm and usually finish by 7.30pm - younger swimmers are often finished by 7pm. Swimmers of all abilities from 4 -12 years are welcome to participate. Mums, Dads and younger siblings are all welcome and can enjoy a social Friday evening around the pool – with a BBQ and licensed canteen. Eftpos facilities are available in the canteen for your convenience.
The club participates in inter-club meets during the season. The most famous being the "The Ascot Cup" a three way swim off between Eagle Junction, Wilston and Ascot swimming clubs. Excitement levels reach a new high on cup day as the local Mums and Dads take to the water to participate in the highly rivaled parents relay. One race this season you don't want to miss!
On occasions Ascot Swim Club will host special guests including Olympic swimming champion and local resident Emily Seebohm.
Thanks to our generous sponsors, the club prizes weekly “Swimmers of the Week”, providing encouragement throughout the season. The season then concludes with the "Ascot Club Championships" held over two Friday nights. After points are tallied based on the performance of swimmers in this event our “Age Champions”, "Runners up Age Champions", "Junior Swimmer of the Year Award", "Senior Swimmer of the Year Award" and our "Ray White Ascot Spirit Award” are presented. You can see a photo below of some of our very happy and deserving award winners (2017/18 Season.)
Swim Club is a volunteer based club run by parents and sponsored by the local community. All families who join the club will be placed on a rotational volunteer roster. Volunteer duties include serving or cooking the BBQ, race starter, serving in the canteen, marshalling the swimmers and entering data. If you are unable to fulfill your duty on the week you are rostered on please attempt to swap with someone else. Our hard working committee would really appreciate your assistance on this. Many thanks!
PLEASE BECOME A SPONSOR - this is a unique way to forge links between the Club and your local business. Our long term sponsors such as Ray White Ascot recognise the benefits and have continued to be one of our major sponsors for over 10 years. Dune outdoor living have also been involved for many years. Ascot Swim Club has a history spanning over 40 years and is only growing stronger. We have approximately 250 swimmers from 150 families. Sponsorship will afford you an opportunity to expose your business to families of the swim club as well as to members of the wider Ascot community.
We accept only a limited number of sponsorship packages at various levels but please be reassured that your genorousity will be recognised permanently during the season with sponsorship signage at the school, on weekly Friday night club nights, on clothing that our swimmers proudly wear, on newsletters, in the club handbbok, on the Ascot State School Facebook page and on this website. As competing businesses won't be accepted, ensure you get in first.
If you love swimming like we do, please get involved. Join our committee? Sponsor us? Or simply become a member of our awesome club. Swim Club is so much fun and the children will love you for it!!
Registrations open in Term 3 - get in early to avoid disappointment as membership numbers are capped. Membership is not exclusively for Ascot State School Students. Our Club is open to all of our local swimmers between the ages of 4-12 years, male and female.

SALISBURY CUP WINNERS 2018
WOO HOO!! Congratulations Ascot Swim Club, WINNERS of the Eric Salisbury Cup 2018.
Congratulations to our Salisbury Cup team who competed against Virginia on Saturday the 26th October. The team consisted of children aged between 5-14 years of age and we are so proud of each and every one of you. Ascot Swim Club was on display and we showed great sportsmanship, we were polite and we all tried our hardest. Some swimmers swam up in an older/faster age group and to them we say thank you. Some children missed out on a ribbon and to them we say thank you. Some children sat on the side line most of the afternoon waiting for only one race, and to them we say thank you. Every one of you contributed, which gained us points towards our awesome win! Well done Salisbury Cup team.
